FAQ's

Who facilitates the retreat? Our retreat is facilitated by Amanda, a master’s-level Licensed Professional Counselor with 16 years of experience.

Do I have to go through a screening process before I can attend? Appropriateness of care is of the utmost importance to us and to the process of group work. Before being registered for a retreat, all participants must go through a brief screening process through an Intake Consultation with Amanda to assure you are clinically appropriate for a workshop at this time.

How do I register for a retreat? Since retreats fill quickly and are only open to a maximum of 5 women, we encourage registering as soon as you are ready. You can register by filling out the contact form on this page to be contacted to schedule your Intake Consultation.

Will my insurance cover it? Retreats are not covered by insurance carriers. Payment is the attendee’s responsibility and is due at registration.

Where do the retreats take place? Retreats are currently held in Destin FL, along the beautiful Emerald Coast.

What about transportation? If you so choose you can rent a car for your stay. Since the retreat is small, we can assist with airport pickup at the Destin Airport only, on Wednesday with prior planning. We can also assist with transportation to the Destin Airport only on Sunday at 11 AM. Details will be discussed further once your registration is confirmed. If you do not have a flight home on Sunday, you will need to find alternate lodging. There are no exceptions and no stay-overs beyond Sunday as the venue will be closed. If prior plans are not made you will be responsible for you own transportation; suggested transportation options will be sent in your confirmation email.

Where do I stay when attending your retreat? Your lodging from Wednesday evening at 6 PM arrival through check-out at 11 AM Sunday is included in the cost of your retreat. We will stay together in a beautiful private home, typically a 5–6 bedroom space with multiple bathrooms, depending on the final group size. The home is intentionally chosen to feel calm, spacious, and supportive of the work we’ll be doing together. Staying under one roof is part of the experience. It allows the retreat to feel immersive, steady, and held, not rushed or fragmented. There is something powerful about healing in community while still having space to rest. Each property is selected with care, prioritizing comfort, privacy, and an environment that feels safe and restorative. You’ll receive full property details in your Welcome Email after your registration is complete.

Are meals included? The kitchen will be fully stocked before you arrive with ingredients for simple, nourishing breakfasts and lunches, along with snacks available throughout your stay. Dinner will also be provided. You'll choose in advance from a menu from local favorite restaurants and delivered by a staff member. If you have specific dietary needs or preferences, you’ll have space to share those after registration. We’ll do our best to ensure you feel cared for and considered. On Saturday night, we’ll gather for a shared dinner together as part of our closing as a gentle way to honor the time we’ve spent and the work you’ve done.

Is there anything to do in the evening after the retreat? Yes! And you’ll have options. Our private home will be within walking distance of the beach, making it easy to step outside for a quiet sunrise or sunset walk. The rhythm of the ocean has a way of helping everything settle. The Destin area often hosts local events, and a nearby hotel regularly offers an evening beach bonfire. Once you arrive, you’ll receive a curated list of activities happening during your stay so you can choose what fits your energy level at the time. Evenings can be used for connection, lingering conversations, shared walks, or gentle community time. Others may prefer solitude, journaling, or early rest. You have a right to set that boundary and do what you need to do for yourself. Without guilt. There is no right way to spend your evenings here. You’re invited to follow what feels steady and supportive for you.

Can my spouse or someone else come with me? To protect the integrity of the retreat space, HIPAA and confidentiality, partners, spouses, and guests are not permitted on the property during the retreat. Confidentiality and emotional safety are foundational to this experience. Keeping the space contained allows every woman to feel safe, respected, and free to share openly. That privacy is not just logistical, it is part of what makes the work steady and safe. It is also important that this time is truly yours. Many women have spent years being available to everyone else. Choosing a few days that belong fully to you is not selfish, it is restorative. Creating clear boundaries around the space helps you settle more deeply into the experience. If your partner would like to travel to the Destin area before or after the retreat, you are welcome to arrive early or extend your stay nearby. Please note that retreat lodging is available only for the scheduled retreat dates and concludes when we close on Sunday.

What else do I need to know? Something shifts when you step away from your daily life. Not just your schedule, but the noise. The notifications. The constant pull of other people's worlds. Still Valley is intentionally designed for that kind of disconnect. During your time here, we ask that you honor a smoke-free, alcohol-free environment, and step away from screens during sessions. We also gently encourage a break from social media for the full retreat. Not as a rule, but as an invitation. What becomes possible when you are fully here, fully present, with no place else to be, is something most women have not experienced in a very long time. This is that time. You have given it to yourself. Let it be uninterrupted.
