About Still Valley

Fifteen years in the making.
Still Valley began as a dream, a mental health and wellness retreat rooted in nature, in stillness, in the kind of healing that happens when someone is finally given real space. For fifteen years, that vision waited for the right therapeutic foundation.
The work of Pia Mellody, a model for healing childhood relational trauma, changed my life, first personally and then professionally. When I began working within this framework with clients I witnessed firsthand the depth of healing that becomes possible when someone can finally release shame they have been carrying since childhood and begin to see and believe in their own worth.
Part of that work is meeting and connecting with the younger parts of yourself. The child who learned to cope by shrinking, by giving too much, by asking for too little. When your inner child is finally seen and affirmed something shifts, not just in the mind, but in the body.
That is why everything here is designed with the nervous system in mind. Healing happens when the body feels safe enough to soften. We don't rush that. We work at a pace your system can trust. And the ocean is not incidental. Its rhythm regulates. Its horizon opens something in the chest. We work beside it, it receives and releases, endlessly, without effort.
Still Valley begins here along the Emerald Coast. The long-term vision is the mountains of Colorado, still, wild, and spacious. But the ocean is a fitting place to begin.
You are welcome here.
